How do you get the courage to write while reading? When I read, I fear to write, because it feels like reading doesn't give me more clarity, it makes me realize how little I actually know about a topic. Then I read so much, I forget half the stuff I read, and don't write because a tangent has taken me somewhere else. I've gone through this process for years. Rarely writing anything (or at least anything requiring at least two citations)
